* Evening Star Quilt Guild

Started learning to sew at age 11 on my mother's treadle Singer machine. By college age was beginning to make some of my own clothes.  Over the  years I have made clothes for myself and my 2 doughters.  I even made a reversable jacket for my husband and a shirt and vest for my son, and many formal evening gowns.  Fortunately I love to sew especially since most readymade clothes do not fit me.  After my Naval officer husband died, I did not need so many clothes for the many functions we had to attend.  I had majored  in Art in college, but I finally turned that creativity into quilts which will long outlast me! And I am seeing that everyone in my family has one. Now with a highly computerized sewing machine, I am using it in creative ways to make more quilts! I do not aspire to win any ribbons, but only to please those who receive my quilts, made in love. I'm sure my grandmother would have made machine quilts if there were such a thing as a computerized machine in her days!
